Sanctuary House offers outpatient services provided by licensed clinical staff for interested clients or families. Services included in our outpatient program are:

  • Comprehensive clinical assessments
  • Individual therapy
  • Family therapy
  • Family consultation

Currently we accept Medicaid, Medicare, and several select private insurances. We are continuing to expand our insurance offerings. Services are available for people interested in paying out of pocket. Please reach out for more information.

Meet Our Clinical Staff

                                                                  Brittany S. Hargrove, LCSW, LCAS

Brittany S. Hargrove LCSW, LCAS is the Clinical Lead Therapist with Sanctuary House. Brittany is responsible for providing clinical support and oversight to therapists and professionals in the organization’s Outpatient Therapy program, as well as ensuring service provision for the organization’s PSR, Day Activity, Supportive Employment, and Personal Care programs.

Brittany is a North Carolina native who obtained her bachelor’s in social work in 2011 from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  Brittany continued her education and obtained her master’s in social work in 2013 with the joint program between the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and North Carolina Agricultural &Technical State University.

Brittany has been in clinical practice for 8 years with extensive training and experience in several treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Trauma Therapy, and Drug and Alcohol Treatment. Brittany is also a certified LCSW Clinical Supervisor and is enthusiastic about supporting professionals in reaching licensure status as the need for mental health professionals continues to be a great need in our society.  Brittany believes in the therapeutic value of human connection and strives to help individuals and families implement the notion that hope, effort, and patience are the gateways to success, joy, and abundance.

Summer Brown, LCSW

Summer is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Summer received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in sociology in 2016 and master’s in social work from the University of North Carolina Greensboro.

Summer has several years of experience providing services to adults and families in a variety of settings. Summer has worked in inpatient, outpatient, and community mental health settings. Summer has extensive training in trauma treatment and has completed training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Summer has also completed training in Mindfulness, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Strengths Based Therapy. Summer focuses on teaching skills that can be useful outside of therapy and allows clients to become the person they desire to be. With compassion and understanding, Summer works with each individual and family to help them build on their strengths to make changes in their life and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.

Summer specializes and works with clients to address depression, anxiety, anger management, trauma, self-esteem, and issues in family and relationships.
