How Peer Support Services Help
- Peer Mentoring and Coaching (One-on-One)
Work one-on-one with a Certified Peer Support Specialist who will encourage, motivate, and support you as you move towards accomplishing your person-centered goals. Together, you’ll create goals, develop action plans, and problem-solve challenges that may arise. Peer Mentoring can help with finding housing, building a natural support system, exploring meaningful ways to spend your time, improving job skills, and addressing related issues such as legal challenges or co-occurring physical and mental health concerns. - Recovery Resource Connecting
Gain support in connecting with professional and non-professional services and community resources that can assist you in achieving your person-centered goals. This may include referrals to health care providers, housing supports, employment services, educational opportunities, legal resources, and more. - Skill Building Recovery Groups.
Peer Support Services provided in a group setting allow the beneficiary the opportunity to engage in structured services with others that share similar recovery challenges or interest; improve or develop recovery skills; and explore community resources to assist the beneficiary in his or her recovery. Groups are an opportunity to learn and collaborate with other community members.
Group topics may include job skills, budgeting and managing credit, relapse prevention, interpersonal skill development, and conflict resolution — all with the goal of helping you gain the confidence and tools needed to navigate daily life - Building Community
Receive guidance in enhancing your social networks and building relationships that promote lasting recovery. Peer Support Services help organize opportunities to engage in supportive activities and connect with others in ways that foster acceptance, belonging, and hope. These services also provide a safe space to learn and practice new social skills in supportive community settings.
